How the calculation works

Each listener receives their own copy of your stream, so bandwidth scales linearly with the audience: Mbps = listeners × bitrate (kbps) ÷ 1000 and GB/month = listeners × kbps × 3600 × hours × 30 ÷ 8 ÷ 1,000,000. Plans at StreamWithQ are sized by concurrent listeners, so you never pay per GB.

Bandwidth = listeners × bitrate × time. One listener at 128 kbps uses about 57.6 MB per hour; at 320 kbps about 144 MB per hour. 50 listeners around the clock at 128 kbps use roughly 2 TB per month.

About 7,800 listeners at 128 kbps or 3,100 at 320 kbps, in theory. In practice providers keep headroom, so plan on roughly 6,000 at 128 kbps.

64 kbps AAC+ for mobile/talk, 128 kbps MP3 for general music, 192–320 kbps MP3 for music-first stations where quality matters.
